Our Preston Panther PTO has kicked off its annual major fundraiser to support all they do for Preston Elementary School. All proceeds from this fundraiser directly benefit the PTO, which then uses those funds to support PES and events like dances, book fair donations, Spring Fest, and much more. At this week's monthly Board of Education meeting, Mr. List, Mr. Angeloni, and Ms. Porter were joined by two of our Panther Singers, Tyler and Sailor, to lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance. They did a fantastic job! Way to go Panthers! #PESPantherPride


This week, we shine our PES Educator Spotlight on Mrs. Laura Drathman! Mrs. Drathman teaches 4th and 5th Grade ELA and 5th Grade Science and Social Studies here at Preston Elementary School and has taught for 16 years, with 14 at PES! Mrs. Drathman holds her Bachelor’s in Elementary Education (Mercyhurst College) and Master’s in Special Education (Mercyhurst College). Mrs. Drathman also holds both PA/MD teaching licenses in Elementary and Special Education. In addition, Mrs. Drathman is IMSE OG+ and LETRS Vol I and II certified. Mrs. Drathman is also the PES ITSS ELA Lead Teacher for our SIP team. Mrs. Drathman plans to become a CERI-certified structured literacy specialist this year. We are so thankful that Mrs. Drathman has made the Panther Pride Den her home! #PESEducators #PESPantherPride


Our Kindergarten Panthers during Read for Health learned how important it is to eat foods of all colors in the rainbow! We are so grateful for our partnership with the Maryland SNAP-ED Program and all it provides for our students! #PESPantherPride











This is a final reminder that our Preston Panther PTO will host a Sweethearts Ball this Friday, February 7th! There will be music, dancing, light refreshments, and snacks! Please use the QR code below to RSVP. Paper copies have been sent home with students, and this information is in our newsletter and has been emailed to all PES families.



PES will celebrate Valentine's Day with a "Wear Pink, Red, and White" themed clothes Spirit Day. This Spirit Day will take place on Friday, 2/14. Students will bring home a copy of this flyer later in the week, and this information will also be available in our PES Family Newsletter.



Friday, we wrapped up Q2 with an awards ceremony celebrating our incredible Panthers in PreK-5th grade! Students were recognized for their hard work, dedication, and achievements this quarter. We are so proud of their efforts—keep shining, Panthers! 🌟 🐾 #PESPantherPride

This week, we shine our PES Educator Spotlight on Mrs. Andrea Burns! Mrs. Burns teaches 3rd grade here at Preston Elementary School and has taught for 16 years, with 12 at PES! Mrs. Burns holds her B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Toccoa Falls College and a
Minor in Bible & Theology. She also holds a Master’s of Education in Differentiation from La Salle University. Mrs. Burns is the former 2018-19 Caroline County Teacher of the Year and holds certifications in LETRS, OGAP, and COMPASS ELL from Salisbury University. Mrs. Burns is also a PES Safety and Behavior School Improvement and CDAT Team member. Mrs. Burns plans to explore a certification in MLL or HAP to help more students! We are so thankful that Mrs. Burns has made the Panther Pride Den her home! #PESEducators #PESPantherPride


Our Panthers got to experience some fantastic chemistry based science yesterday when the traveling science lab from the Maryland Science Center came to PES! Our students saw all kinds of chemical reactions and learned about how chemicals interact with each other. Thank you to the Maryland Science Center for this opportunity! #PESPantherPride
