Read Across America Week and our Winter Bookfair are right around the corner, starting the week of Monday, February 27. To help celebrate we have a Dr. Seuss-themed Spirit Week that uses some of the more famous themes from his wonderful children's books. Reading is so important for our Panthers and we are looking forward to all of our activities! #PESReads

Our Winter Bookfair is fast approaching (2/27 to 3/3) and information will be coming home soon and will also be available online via our regular media outlets. Please save the date for our Family Winter Bookfair Night on Thursday, 3/2 from 4 to 5:30 PM. All are invited to come and browse our Bookfair with their students. Thank you for your continued support of Preston Elementary School!

Monday, Feb. 20, all schools and offices are closed for Presidents' Day.

Thank you to everyone for a fantastic Spirit Week! Today was Flannel Friday or Comfy Day and our Panthers definitely learned in their most relaxing attire today! 😎 #pespantherpride

Congratulations to this weeks PES PAWSITIVE Referral recipients! Kylee and Alayna are doing a great job! These students are showing their PAWS each and every day! #pespantherpride

Looks like these Panthers are ready for a vacation! Still a long way to go till summer but they are certainly well prepared! Tomorrow is our final day of Spirit Week and will be Flannel Friday where we ask everyone to wear flannel or their comfiest clothes! ❤️

Today in 4th grade our Panthers did a science experiment to learn about weathering and erosion. Ms. August had one jar of water and one jar of rocks per table. Students put a sugar cube in each jar and shook them for one minute. Afterwards they had to compare the difference between what they saw in the jar with the water and what they saw in the jar with the rocks. Science in action! #PESPantherPride

Friday, February 17, is a half day of school.

We had some very colorful choices today for Mismatch Day! We loved seeing so many of our Panthers really cut loose and go all out! Tomorrow is Dress Like a Tourist Day, so let’s see those travel/vacation outfits! #pespantherpride

We are so grateful for and honored to have SRO Kenny Tull at PES every day protecting our students and staff. SRO Tull is the most amazing role model for our students, and PES and the entire Panther Community thank him! #pespantherpride #ThankyouSROTull

Love and Friendship was in the air today at PES and our Panthers showed up in all the best colors! Red, Pink, and White Day was fantastic! Next up we have Mismatch Day! Go crazy 😎🤓 #pespantherpride

The Local Color Art Show and Working Artists Forum is able this year to donate $150 to every Elementary school on the Eastern Shore. Betty Huang, President of the Working Artists Forum, visited PES today and presented Mr. Lambert with this generous donation. We would like to thank the Local Color Art Show and Working Artists Forum for this very gracious gift to our students.

Dress to Impress Day kicked off our Spirit Week! Looking sharp! 😎🤓 Next up is Red, White, and Pink Day to celebrate Valentines Day ❤️💕#pespantherpride

Congratulations to Zoey Nichols, Cole Boss, Aubrey Barringer, Jase Blizzard, Charlie Ackerson, Rayleigh Lynn, and Paige Ackerson for receiving all 9 belts for their grade level during Jump Rope Ninja! #ChampionJumpers #PESPantherPride

Congratulations to Addison Easton, PES Book Reviewer of the Week! She read the Dan Gutman book, Mr. Docker is Off His Rocker! She gave the book 5 stars. Addison said it was a book about how AJ thought that his Science teacher was a mad scientist. He does nutty experiments and has a demented, cackling laugh. Plus, he invented a car that runs on potatoes! Something weird is going on. Is Mr. Docker trying to take over the world? Congratulations Addison! #PESReads

Mrs. Hammond's Kindergarten class used whisper phones to really hear themselves read today! They look like they are enjoying themselves, and really taking this seriously! They are well on their way to becoming excellent readers! #PESPantherPride

Today is the final day of National Counseling Week, and our CCPS Central Office Friends and PES wanted to share our appreciation for Mrs. Sherman one final time! Thank you for all you do, and while this was your week, we appreciate you each and every day!
