Our fifth grade students took their field trip today to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum! They had fantastic weather and as you can see, they had a great field trip! Our Panthers learned a lot about our local maritime history here on Eastern Shore! See the full album on our Facebook page! #pespantherpride

Congratulations to Cole Boss for being chosen as the PES Book Reviewer of the Week! The book that he gave a 5 star review for is the Graphic Novel I Survived The Shark Attacks of 1916. A massive shark has been attacking swimmers in the ocean along the Jersey Shore, not far from where Chet Roscow is staying. Fear is in the air. So when he spots a gray fin in the creek, he's sure it's his imagination running wild. It's possible he's about to come face-to-face with a killer shark... right? This book is based on the real life events of the Jersey Shore shark attacks and Cole likes this book because of the attacking sharks! We have the novel and the graphic novel available in the Media Center! Come check it out! Congratulations Cole! #PESReads

Congratulations to Mrs. Laura Drathman! She is this week's Staff Member of the Week! Mrs. Drathman is such a down-to-earth person and willing to work on solutions that help everyone, a master of her craft with her 4th graders, and so great at forming lasting relationships with our students! We are so grateful for what she accomplishes every day here at PES - which is nothing short of changing lives for the positive each and every moment! #pespantherpride

Congratulations to this weeks PES PAWSITIVE Referral recipients! Lachlan, Mason, Ka’Miya, Marques, Tyler, Stephen, Hadley, Jase, Elston, Stella, and Grayson are doing a great job! These students are showing their PAWS each and every day! Check out our Facebook page for all of their pictures! #pespantherpride

Earth Day is definitely a day our Panthers recognize as important! Our 4th graders and Mrs. Burns class showed their Earth Day recognition in different ways! Mrs. Burns class helped beautify the school while our 4th grade made posters in art! #pespantherpride

Autism Acceptance Day - Love and acceptance go a long way! Blue is the color that represents Autism Awareness so we wore blue to show inclusion at PES! #autismawareness #pespantherpride

What’s Your Passion Wednesday: one characteristic of autism is to show an incredibly focused passion for topics of interest. Our Panthers dressed like something they love to celebrate! Check out our Facebook page for the full album! #autismawareness #pespantherpride

Neurodiversity Tuesday: to celebrate the beauty in the unique spectrum of the human mind our PES Panthers wore tie-dyed or outfits featuring the entire rainbow of colors! Check out the full album on our Facebook page! #autismawareness #pespantherpride

Magnificent Mind Monday: Autism is a neurological variation. This means the brains of autistic people work differently than the brains of allistic (non-autistic) people - and that is amazing! We celebrated how amazing it is that our minds work in different and wonderful ways by wearing fun hats! Check out the full album on our Facebook page! #AutismAwareness #PESPantherPride

Preston Elementary School would like to send our deepest thanks and gratitude to our Pupil Personnel Worker, Melissa Prettyman! Mrs. Prettyman works so hard for our students and staff, and we are so grateful for all that she does! #OneFamily

Congratulations to Paige for being chosen as the PES Book Reviewer of the Week! The book that she reviewed is called Karen’s School Picture. This is a Baby-Sitters Little Sisters Graphic Novel. She said it is about a girl that gets glasses and someone teases her. But when that person gets glasses, is she going to tease him or be nice? She gave it 5 stars. Paige has written ten book reviews this year! Way to go Paige! You can find this book in the Graphic Novels section of the Media Center. Congratulations!

Today in 4th Grade Science we used a battery and some wires to transform energy! We were able to make a buzzer buzz, a lightbulb light up, and then have them do both at the same time! #PESPantherPride

We are so pleased to announce that Mr. Justin Klein is our staff member of the week! Mr. Klein is such a wizard at what he does in the classroom and the relationships he forms with students. Mr. Klein is always so upbeat, encouraging, and getting his students to aim as high as they can in his Language Arts classes! We appreciate all he does for our Panthers! Thank you for all you do Mr. Klein!

We are pleased to announce that this year's PES Spring Concert will be held on May 9, 2023 starting at 7 PM at the CRHS Auditorium. The PES Band, Orchestra, and Chorus will be featured at this performance and we are looking forward to sharing their musical talents with everyone!

We would like to recognize and thank Mrs. Blackmon for all that she does for our Panthers! Our media center is such a wonderful place for our kids to explore, and grow a love for reading. This is due to the hard work and tender care that Mrs. Blackmon puts in every day, making sure that our kids have the very best around! We appreciate all that she does, and are so glad that she is here with us at PES! #PESPantherPride

Thank you to the Caroline Garden Club for sending PES these lovely flowers to brighten our day! Mrs. Watson and Mrs. Elin are definitely feeling the Spring vibes these flowers are bringing! #SpringFlowerFever #PESPantherPride

Mrs. Hammond’s Kindergarten class loved having CCPS Board Member, Mrs. Michelle Wayman here this morning for a very special read aloud! She was kind enough to leave a copy of the book she read with them ♥️ Mrs. Wayman read "Malcom, Who Will You Be?" which was written by her daughter, Dawn Wayman, and is about their family 🫶🏻#PESPantherPride #OneFamily
